This 5/8' straight razor has a full hollow ground carbon steel blade with round point. The high performing steel is etched "Solingen Best Quality". The razor is finished with a black cellidor handle which is easy to use. This an excellent straight razor for beginners and people who prefer a robust and straightforward blade. 

This is an elegant straight razor and one of the best values we have and it's the perfect introduction to traditional wet shaving. Up to 15 work stages of our most experienced straight razor sharpeners are required to achieve a full hollow grind. Worthless on Tough Beards

I went through all steps, used pre-shave cream and beard oil, stropped the blade to make it very razor sharp, shaved numerous times using various blade angles, and it was a waste of time and effort.

Dovo classic is just that. Bought a leas expensive wel rated razor and was a out to give up. Dovo came shave ready adter stropping. Well balanced. Live it.

Light and easy

I wanted to try one of the newer razors from the 21st century to contrast it against my vintage pieces, and also wanted a blade that I could travel with that wasn’t so precious that I had to worry about it. This 5/8 round point was at a price point that allowed me to jump in readily. Before shaving I took it gently to my 8K, and 12k-15k stones, then put it on a linen strop with 1.5um, 1.0um and finally a .05um paste, cleaning between each, then after a few laps on a leather strop I took it to the barberia. This little razor hummed right through with ease. It’s a much lighter blade in general for me. I usually use 6/8 and 7/8s, so it was an entirely novel feeling. Instead of my beloved and masterful classics, it felt like a new little sports car that zoomed across my face with a nice little resonance that was also new to me — and for just around $100, this was a perfect piece to add to my rota, and will be my new travel razor. I’m looking at some other Dovo’s that are on the upper end now. It’s a whole new era in shaving for me.

5/8" hollow ground Dovo classic straight razor

I have been wanting to try a straight razor for a long time now. I finally bought this one for myself, as a late Christmas present. I was nervous once I recieved my razor, that I'd end up cutting myself. I finally got the nerve up to use it, after watching several tutorial videos. The razor performed flawlessly. It gave me a nice clean, close shave. The razor is high quality. It's made in a region that is heralded, for some of the best steel in the world. I'm fairly certain that this razor will last the rest of my life, with the proper care, and maintenance. Very, very satisfied, and am quite certain you will be too. If you choose to buy this razor.
