Abbate Y La Mantia is a family owned brand focusing only on products made
with natural saffron in Italy.
Saffron is a precious and complex spice. It contains over 150 volatile
compounds and aromas plus a large number of non-volatile active ingredients
such as Carotenoids, Vitamin B1, Vitamin B2, and Safranal. Saffron has been
considered an aphrodisiac starting from ancient days in Greek mythology and has
always been associated with fertility, prosperity and wealth.

To make a kilo of saffron it is necessary to manually collect about 170,000
flowers, in six weeks (flowering period) and to maintain the properties of the
spice it must be harvested during the early hours of the morning. The great
