The name for this aftershave has a fascinating history. Widely used by the end of the 17th century, the cat was a whip made from heavy rope and used to discipline unruly sailors. A four-foot length was split into its three component strands to produce a two-and-a-half-foot tail. Each of the three strands were then separated again into three to produce the requisite nine tails. These were knotted at the free ends to prevent fraying, and the handle part was then back-spliced to provide a good handgrip. Once made, the cat was stored in a canvas bag until needed. This is also the origin of the phrase, “Let the cat out of the bag,” which was not something any sailor of yore wanted to hear!

We have a 30-day return policy, starting from the day you receive your item.
Products that have been removed from their original packaging or have broken seals are deemed non-returnable. Returns lacking original packaging will not be accepted.
Shaving creams, soaps, lotions, and any liquids or unsealed containers are not returnable as opening the lid could compromise the integrity of the product.
Blade sampler packs, once partially used, are not eligible for returns, refunds, or exchanges.
Shaving brushes, combs, gift sets, kits and other grooming products and shaving accessories are not returnable if used, have broken seals, lacking original packaging.
Due to hygiene and sanitation concerns, used items cannot be returned.

Upon your confirmation, we will provide a return shipping label. Upon receipt of your return, our team will inspect it. If accepted, a refund will be issued according to our refund policy terms.
