Dovo - Arena Savannah Straight Razor, Square Point, 8/8"

A momentous, black full inch blade, paired with birch scales bright as sand on a sunny day, engraved with a proud lion, takes courage to wield in ones face. 

This courage is what the blade stands for. It was inspired by Theodore Roosevelt's speech entitled “Citizenship in a Republic”. An excerpt of this speech, know as “The Man in the Arena", is engraved in full on the back of this special blade.

The speech states beautifully that it is not the critic who counts, but all credit goes to the man in the arena, who is daring greatly.

The bright pearlised birch wood looks like it is glowing from the inside. Especially in contrast to the dark blade the structure of the wood comes out beautifully, reminding of the veined structure of marble. The name Savannah comes from both the birch wood's colour spectrum, which reminds us of beautiful savannah tones, as well as the lion on the blade, representing the courage to dare greatly.

During hollow grinding, the straight razor is ground concavely from the back to the cutting edge. This design combines great flexibility with high torsional rigidity in longitudinal form. Enjoy the satisfying sound and feel of a gentle shave from the vibration of the razor blade trimming your facial hair.

A straight razor with a traditional square point, the cutting edge ends directly at the tip of the blade at a 90° angle. With a little practice, you can achieve formidable results both when precisely shaping contours and when shaving dimples. Such types of blades allow you to shave comfortably with absolute precision, but should only be handled by experienced users.

A wide blade is particularly suitable for men with strong beard growth or thicker hair. An 8/8 inch straight razor glides undeterred through even the thickest facial hair. The experienced barber appreciates the high weight of the blade and the resulting smooth operating performance. Especially on straight facial areas, you will achieve an unrivalled thorough and comfortable shave.

Most straight razors are made of carbon steel. To avoid stains, rinse your blade with warm water after shaving. Next, dab it dry with a cloth without touching the cutting edge and stow it open to dry completely. Between two applications there should be at least 48 hours so that the burr can realign itself. We have a 30-day return policy, starting from the day you receive your item.

Products that have been removed from their original packaging or have broken seals are deemed non-returnable. Returns lacking original packaging will not be accepted.

Shaving creams, soaps, lotions, and any liquids or unsealed containers are not returnable as opening the lid could compromise the integrity of the product. 

Blade sampler packs, once partially used, are not eligible for returns, refunds, or exchanges.

Shaving brushes, combs, gift sets, kits and other grooming products and shaving accessories are not returnable if used, have broken seals, lacking original packaging.

Due to hygiene and sanitation concerns, used items cannot be returned.

All returns and exchanges require prior authorization. To initiate a return, please contact us at support@newenglandshaving.com. We will verify with you if the item meets our return policy criteria. Upon your confirmation, we will provide a return shipping label. Upon receipt of your return, our team will inspect it. If accepted, a refund will be issued according to our refund policy terms.

Shipping fees both ways are non-refundable in the case of return or exchange except for damaged, defective, or incorrectly shipped items.

Refund requests will be denied if the returned product does not meet our return criteria or align with the initial confirmation of its condition.
