Dovo - Inox Straight Razor, Olive Wood Handle, Round Point 5/8"

This DOVO 5/8 inch knife is one of the few straight razors we make from stainless steel. Of course, we sharpen this razor by hand in several stages and decorate the blade with 24-carat gold. The fluted tang provides support for your fingers as they gently glide the hollow-ground blade over your face.

The round head is the classic shape of a straight razor and will suit most shaving situations. This type of blade has been very popular for centuries, as the bulbous shape can be used very safely in the area of the ears, nose and dimples. Even in the event of an emergency, the round head protects you from injury.

Straight razors in the size 5/8 inch are real all-rounders and can pass any task around the classic wet shave with flying colors. The blade is relatively heavy and can therefore glide smoothly over your skin without much pressure. At the same time, it is still maneuverable enough to be able to handle even more technically demanding passages around the nose, ears and chin with agility.

This straight razor is made of stainless steel of grade 1.4034. The metal shows good corrosion resistance to soaps, water and steam, making it ideal for making high-quality and super-sharp blades. The modern metal alloy requires hardly any maintenance, is easy to clean and is therefore particularly recommended for newcomers. The ornaments are created by coating with 24 carat gold.

Olive wood is a unique material of nature. It is harder than domestic oak or beech wood and shows a high resistance to mold infestation. Even untreated olives are characterized by above-average resistance to water, which of course makes it the perfect material for razors, shaving brushes and shavings.

To prevent staining on it, rinse your knife with warm water after shaving. Now pat it dry with a cloth without touching the cutting edge and store it open in a dry place. There should be at least 48 hours between two applications, so that the stressed cutting burr can straighten up again on its own. If you don't use your knife for a long time, brush it with an acid-free care oil. 

How to shave: Your shave begins with pulling the knife on a strap. After you have generously smeared your face with shaving cream or shaving oil, grab the knife so that the open handle is facing away from you. With your free hand, you stretch your facial skin to form a surface that is as straight as possible. Place the knife at an angle of about 30° and gently scrape it over your beard. First with the stroke, then across and finally against the direction of growth.

We have a 30-day return policy, starting from the day you receive your item.

Products that have been removed from their original packaging or have broken seals are deemed non-returnable. Returns lacking original packaging will not be accepted.

Shaving creams, soaps, lotions, and any liquids or unsealed containers are not returnable as opening the lid could compromise the integrity of the product. 

Blade sampler packs, once partially used, are not eligible for returns, refunds, or exchanges.

Shaving brushes, combs, gift sets, kits and other grooming products and shaving accessories are not returnable if used, have broken seals, lacking original packaging.

Due to hygiene and sanitation concerns, used items cannot be returned.

All returns and exchanges require prior authorization. To initiate a return, please contact us at support@newenglandshaving.com. We will verify with you if the item meets our return policy criteria. Upon your confirmation, we will provide a return shipping label. Upon receipt of your return, our team will inspect it. If accepted, a refund will be issued according to our refund policy terms.

Shipping fees both ways are non-refundable in the case of return or exchange except for damaged, defective, or incorrectly shipped items.

Refund requests will be denied if the returned product does not meet our return criteria or align with the initial confirmation of its condition.
