Martin de Candre Absinthe Shaving Soap brings a crisp, mentholated anise fragrance to your shaving routine, inspired by the herbaceous character of the celebrated Belle Époque spirit. Bright and invigorating top notes of hyssop and lemon balm open into a heart of star anise, fennel, and green anise, echoing the green freshness and gentle bitterness of absinthe itself.

Created in 2024 to mark Martin de Candre's 50th anniversary, this soap is saponified in a cauldron using only vegetable oils, following traditional French methods. The vegan formula is handmade in Anjou and cured slowly to build a dense texture that produces a creamy, cushioning lather with excellent slip and protection.

Available sizes

  • Travel Size (50g): Typically lasting 4 to 6 months with daily use.
  • Classic Size (200g): Full size format for home use, typically lasting up to 12 months with daily shaving.

How to use

  • Moisten your face with warm water.
  • Wet your shaving brush, then gently shake out excess water.
  • Load the brush with a few light swirls on the soap.
  • Build lather in a bowl or directly on the face until creamy and stable.
  • Apply to the beard area and shave as usual, then rinse thoroughly.

Ingredients: Aqua, Stearic Acid, Palmitic Acid, Cocos Nucifera Oil, Potassium Hydroxide, Glycerin, Sodium Chloride, Parfum, Citronellol, Eugenol, Geraniol, Limonene, Linalool.

Made in France. Drain the jar after each use and keep the lid on only while traveling, since prolonged exposure to air can dry the soap between uses.

Returns are accepted within 30 days of delivery.

Items must be unused, in original condition, with all packaging and seals intact.

For hygiene and safety reasons, straight razors (all), manicure, pedicure and grooming tools, opened blades, opened creams/soaps/lotions/liquids, used brushes/combs, opened gift sets/kits, and partially used blade sampler packs are non‑returnable.

For change‑of‑mind returns, shipping fees both ways are non‑refundable, and any prepaid return label cost will be deducted from your refund.
