What happens when you switch to aluminum-free deodorant?
When you switch from an antiperspirant to an aluminum free deodorant, your body usually goes through a short adjustment phase that can last around four weeks. In week one, most people notice very little change and can apply their new aluminum free deodorant to clean, dry underarms once or twice a day without much extra sweat or odor.
Around weeks two and three, sweating often increases as your sweat glands start purging trapped aluminum and your underarm bacteria rebalance, which can temporarily cause more noticeable body odor.
